Cover upgrades

Embossed foil

Our foil is embossed UV and embossed foil. It is raised and textured, and you can feel it. This is not flat heat-pressed foil.

Rainbow cover

Holographic cover stock

The cover itself shifts colors as a reader turns the book. It is added to the regular paperback price. One choice, two ways to have it.

Cover stock only: $4 a book for 5" × 8", 5.25" × 8", and 5.5" × 8.5". $8 a book for 6" × 9".
Cover stock with UV spot foil and varnish: $6 a book for 5" × 8", 5.25" × 8", and 5.5" × 8.5". $12 a book for 6" × 9". This price replaces the cover stock price. It does not add to it.

Holographic cover stock has a 25 book minimum.

Dust jackets are available, with foiling and embossed UV.
Duplex inside covers: the inside cover is printed on both sides.

We raise the design in UV, then lay the foil over that UV. The swatch fan is the foil we use. Holographic foil shifts as the cover turns.

Printed edges

Sprayed edges. One price covers all 3 edges. We don't offer foil on book edges at this time, but we're always expanding!

How it's made

The books go into clamps, and the edges get their color while they are held tight. This is the bench, mid-job.

Add-ons

Vellum overlays. Sold as loose sheets. They are not bound into the book.
Bookmarks. Printed to go with the edition.

Bulk discounts

Bigger runs cost less per book. 100 books and up is our largest tier.

Turnaround

Our current turnaround is 2 to 3 weeks once we have print-ready files, and your approved physical proof if you ordered one. As a small shop, this can vary: during convention season or when we have larger orders in the queue, it may take longer, and other times orders may be finished sooner.

Proofs are physical proofs only, with no digital proof approval.
